Episode 1. Welcome + Defining Abuse.
Welcome to the i am safe podcast!
This is the first episode of our first season (and sort of like the pilot episode of the series where I introduce myself, my story and the intentions for this podcast and hope you like it) and where we cover examples of various types of abuses that one can experience.
Definitions and examples mentioned in this episode come from the National Domestic Abuse Hotline where you can find additional resources for healing from abuse.
My intention for this podcast is to keep the vibe real: not overly edited or slick, in my own voice with my own fuck-ups and stumbles (we’re all real people here and I’m just starting out with this process) and connecting with you in a way that feels like we can chillax with our tea, coffee, cucumber water and snacks and be vulnerable while being safe from judgement and harm.
I would love to hear your thoughts and questions in the comments section below (or, leave us a kind review on spotify!) Because the stories discussed in all of the episodes herein can possibly trigger sensitive feelings and experiences, it is always appreciated that comments are rooted in compassion, kindness and respect for all.
Thank you for your support.
Here’s to us living a life of less fear and a lot more safety/beauty/love/magic/insert your desire.
